A couple in China has tried to name their newborn after the "at" sign. The @ symbol, while used in Chinese email, was meaningful to the couple because "at" when pronounced with a long "T" sounds like "ai ta," or "love him," Reuters reports. "The whole world uses it to write e-mail, and translated into Chinese it means 'love him'," said the father. No word on whether Chinese officials, who have banned names using Arabic numerals, foreign languages and symbols not used by Chinese minority languages, will OK the choice.
